# Can AI engines actually read your site? Find out in minutes.

Before any strategy conversation, there is a mechanical question: when an AI engine tries to
use your site as a source, does it succeed? The free Answerworthy scan answers it with evidence,
not vibes. Enter a domain, get real findings.

## What the scan checks

- **Reachability.** Can the AI crawlers that matter (OpenAI's, Anthropic's, Perplexity's,
Google's) fetch your pages, or does a bot wall, a robots.txt rule, or a challenge
page turn them away? We check per bot, and we distinguish "blocked by rule" from "blocked in
practice," because they are different facts.
- **The raw-HTML floor.** Most AI retrieval reads your server's HTML, not the page your
JavaScript assembles afterward. The scan compares the two and shows what disappears without
JS. If your answers only exist after rendering, you may not exist to the engines.
- **Structured data, validated.** Not "schema detected," but whether your JSON-LD parses, is
validated, and is substantive enough to help. Thin boilerplate markup measurably
underperforms none, so we flag it rather than gold-star it.
- **robots.txt and llms.txt.** What your files tell AI crawlers, including accidental
blocks of the bots you want and the four ways these files commonly go wrong.
- **Extractability.** Whether your key pages state answers plainly, early, and in structures
engines can lift: scannable headings, answer-first openings, clean tables.

Every finding shows its evidence and comes with a plain-language explanation of why it
matters, so the results are useful even if you never talk to us again.

## What the scan is honest about

A scan is the audit layer of a four-layer problem. It can tell you whether engines *can* read
and extract your site. It cannot tell you what ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity
*say* about your brand (that takes panel measurement), what AI bots *do* on
your site (that takes your CDN logs), or whether anything you fix *worked*
(that takes re-measurement over time). Those three layers are the platform. The scan is the
free, self-contained first step, and its findings stand on their own.

## From scan to operating system

If your scan comes back clean: good, one layer down, and the interesting questions are in the
other three. If it comes back with findings, you now hold a concrete, evidence-backed fix
list. Either way, the next step is the same: a free account in the full workspace, where the
scan's fix list joins panel visibility measurement, verified crawler analytics, and the
fix-verify loop, for one brand or a whole client roster.
